Maybe these are the real renderings... The group is going to introduce a plan and the plan can be to say to build so and so...

So not even the group well have a true rendering just a made up one of what can be done...

They still need $500 million to pay for all of this...

I think if they build as many highrises as the rendering shows, they'll need well over $500m.

RAGE- 09-04-2006
That rendering from what I read is fake...

There is a total 15 buildings in the rendering---

They could build 10 buildings with that amount saying the buildings range from 8-15 floors...

The project is $600 million

Don't forget the cost of the dams, any civil engineering that would need to be done, reinforcing or constructing the islands, making them fit for solid foundations... I don't doubt that they'll be able to secure the funds, really, but I think it would end up costing more than what they're predicting.

This will definately involve some pretty talented engineering. Anything is possible with engineering, if you have the money. The only question is whether or not this will be WORTH the money. I think the city council should appreciate that this idea will change the face of the riverside, and do a lot more to make it more of a community focal point. If they build on these islands, then there's no reason why they shouldn't do a lot more snazzy development on Riverside Drive.

The Dams are funded from Vision 2025

The first Dam well be built at 96th and Riverside

2nd Dam undecided... So this could be the spot for the Dam...

Yes, this is too much to waste on the River right now... Maybe some $200 million is ok, but let’s focus on Downtown Tulsa next to the BOK... Let’s build something and bring people down their first...

Spartan65- 09-04-2006
Too much to waste? You can never, ever waste money on community enhancement and attracting great development.

RAGE- 09-04-2006
Well if you want to enhance something Lets do it economically feasible to what is needed...

I just think the city is branching out with all these new projects

Isn't that good?

If were not getting ahead of ourselves... I mean what about the people... Our population is declining and our Suburbs are growing... It’s good but bad...

Spartan65- 09-04-2006
So then the city should be doing everything they can to put a new face on the inner city.

The only concern I see is trying not to tax the heck out of everyone.

RAGE- 09-04-2006
TAX-- That how we have been paying for all of this...

They said that the 6 people are local and maybe they have got the contacts...

Public Funding--- TAX the people who live in the SUBURBS LIKE A HIGH COUNTY TAX and then we got your $500 million biggrin.gif

Maybe if we did that the people well move back into Tulsa...

Spartan65- 09-04-2006
Denver did that with gas taxes out in Denver's suburbs, an idea that I am totally against: People should have a right to choose their lifestyle and surroundings.

Don't you live out in the suburbs?

Nope City of Tulsa...

I think they should have the right to live where ever, but they use the streets in the city and we pay for it so why not charge them for it… tongue.gif

I really don't think that...

The wire thing over the green space on the rendering reminds me of Chicago's millinume park...

So did you see these renderings online or at the city council meeting? (81st and Mingo is definately suburban.)
