4 new Hotel's for Owasso
1.Hampton Inn-- with 102 rooms, will sit just south of Smith Farm Marketplace
2.Marriott Town Place Hotel, with 83 rooms, will be on the Tyann Plaza development, at U.S. 169 and south of 96th.
3.The Sheraton Hotel, with 160 rooms, will be just east of the highway and north of 96th
4.Candlewood Suites, with 60 rooms, will be east of Garnett Road along 96th.
OWASSO -- Investors are pouring an estimated $40.5 million into four hotels that are scheduled to begin construction within three months, city leaders said.
The hotels, to be in and near Owasso's main shopping district at U.S. 169 and 96th Street North, will employ roughly 90 people and generate about $2.1 million in annual payroll.
"We think we're located ideally for the kind of investment in hotel/motel rooms that will make us kind of a center for the airport, for the Cherokee (Industrial Park) and for people who are here for hospital stays of some short-term and long-term nature," City Manager Rodney Ray said.
The four developments cover about 260,000 square feet. The facilities, which will take roughly a year to complete, could generate an estimated $170,000 in annual hotel/motel taxes -- money that would be invested into economic development opportunities for the city, Ray said.
