Rose Bowl in Tulsa auction draws two prospective buyers Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), Apr 14, 2006 by Journal Record Staff
After one month on eBay, Tulsa executive Sam Baker failed to attract a bidder for the Route 66 landmark the Rose Bowl.
But the owner of Baker Recovery Inc. of Tulsa did receive two inquiries from prospective buyers for the former bowling alley, so he was somewhat satisfied.
A lot of times people won't actually bid on real estate, he said, but they'll call you to check on it. They want to see the thing first.
Baker bought the three-acre facility two months ago for $295,000 and listed it at $499,000. The auction closed Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday afternoon, he was still awaiting contact from the bargain hunters.
In his eyes, the former AMF bowling alley at 7419 E. 11th St. offers potential as a restaurant or bar, with nearly all of its 34,000 square feet available under a single domed, reinforced concrete roof supported by only two columns.

I hope the deal goes through, as the Rosebowl is such a huge part of Tulsa's history, especially along Route 66. I drive by there occasionally, and it saddens me to see the boarded up windows... Please keep us updated on the status as best you can..
Thanks,
Monica
