I've seen a rumour on UrbanPlanet.Org where Six Flags may be interested in Jenks or BA.

Talk it out. Personally I don't buy it, first Bell's, now Six Flags, which has left OK?

Six Flags obviously doesn't think very highly of Oklahoma after the way they have been treating OKC.

bluedogok- 09-16-2006
They are trying to shed properties to shed debt, Frontier City and White Water are up for sale and they have already sold off Astroworld. I don't see them adding any more properties anywhere, let alone building a new one.

I see Snyder trying to gut it, take what cash there is left and leave a shell of a company.

Shrewd businessman at his finest.

Spartan65- 09-16-2006
Well he claimed he wanted it for his slough of entertainment companies.

Besides, Six Flags already owns a park in Tulsa. Why would they try to flood a market they're already in?

bombermwc- 09-17-2006
I'd just assume see them go bankrupt after how they treated OKC. Frontier City's investors go and buy up Six Flags when they weren't doing well, tried to make a go of it. Now these new investors want to leave for NYC where they can waste money on expensive office space and make even less money. They apparently don't realize that you can't sell off properties when your business is in theme parks. If you sell all your parks, how are you goint to make money...derrrr.

I know the people who are buying White Water Bay and Frontier City... Won of the investors is the current Mayor... The other one is the guy who owns the Buffalo Wild Wing franchise for OKC market...

Tulsa--- I don’t see how the Six Flags Company would be able to pay for it from the start... BA paid for Bass Pro and Bass Pro is having trouble paying the city back, now they want Six Flags... I don’t think if it went down for a vote, the BA people would turn it down...

Spartan65- 09-17-2006
Bass Pro and Six Flags are right up BA's alley, so there's no problem there. Whereas urban housing is not up their alley, so that's where we run into perception issues, especially if you call it "economic development" which apparently means something bad, like "liberal" now means something bad, and not someone with certain political beliefs.

Six Flags is a cool park... They had a lot of rides and had live music everywhere... Liked the food (chorus)

If they do build, it well give Bells a run for there money...

bombermagic- 09-17-2006
six flags doesn't own a park in tulsa

besides anything would gives bells a run for it's money

Spartan65- 09-17-2006
Either Bell's or Great Splash or whatever used to show up on their locator map on Six Flags' website. It doesn't anymore.

I think it was the waterpark.

Don't worry about Six Flags. Even if they build a park in Tulsa, it would suck and they would only pay for half-ass coasters. Laundry's might be thinking of buying one or morwe of Six Flags parks. There is potential for Bells one day, but that day will be 10 years from now or more.

Until Bells renovates there current park, I don’t see Bells getting any better with that new Roller Coaster... If you walk around Bells, the sidewalks are cracked, the paint is peeling off everything, and there is a distinctive scent in the air...

Spartan65- 09-18-2006
Was that Laundry's, or Landry's, the upscale Houston-based seafood chain?

That distinctive scent in the air is what makes a good park, great. Once you relocate and take that away, it takes the memories of gemerations away. Scent is a powerfull memory. What would be nice, is if they (Bells) could buy adjacent land and expand there, then renovate the old, without taking too much character away. What do you think?
