Target, Lowe's and Belk commit to locate in the planned west Tulsa center.

Developers of the planned 695,000-square-foot Tulsa Hills shopping center say three big-name retailers have signed on to be in the project set to open in 2008.

Phase 1--- 695,000 sqft $90 million

That is wear we left off the old section...

Yeah it would be a nice fit with a 20 plex Warren Theater... Art Deco Masterpiece Theater...?

I wonder what they are going to do with the horse? biggrin.gif

It should be mentioned that on the old forum we did searches for some of the possibilities for tenants, retailers that were alluded to in the World (which we ran google searches for the allusions) and we came up with Crate & Barrell and Whole Foods.

The logic behind Whole Foods, which I remember, is that they alluded to a gourmet food grocery store.

Update on land--- If you are driving south on 71st going down the hill to get to 71st and Lewis intersection-- Look strait and you can see the land they have cleared-- You can know even see the highway...

The land they have cleared is amazing Looks like a fire burned down the woods it’s a big spot--- You won’t miss it...

Looks like South Tulsa to me!

It's east of HWY 75 and HWY 75 runs east of Downtown. Everything east of DT would be East Tulsa! This is straight south of DT, so shouldn't it be called South Tulsa Shopping center?

Spartan65- 09-14-2006
Well it's being called Tulsa Hills, but it is located in Southwest Tulsa, because it's west of the river.

The only land left to develop on 71st is in West Tulsa and the developers have hit the area...

Yes the development is east of Hwy 75 and Hwy 75 runs east of downtown, but that is after it crosses the river and heads east a bit. An easier way to look at it is that everything west of Main Street (assume it runs straight south - if it did it would be in the middle of the river and would come out around Jenks Riverside Airport) has a west address and everything east of Main Street has an east address. So basically, everything east of the river has an east address and everything west has a west address. And everything south of Archer/Admiral has a south address and everything north has a north address.

So is nobody interested or fascinated with the possibility of a Whole Foods, a Warren Theatre, and a Crate and Barrel here?

I think all three would be great. I just wonder if this development is going to be upscale enough for a Crate and Barrel. Another thing that needs to come to Tulsa IMO is a Cheesecake Factory. OKC is getting one, Tulsa needs one too.

I just hope the facade turns out well. This is in the heart of Tulsa and should be done with a timeless approach. I like the tenants that are looking to expand to that area. This part of town is virtually untapped and really could draw from surrounding suburbs. If done right, I think this area could really take off.

You have to wonder, but there WILL be an organic food store. Just about every organic food store is half-way upscale. Plus a West Coast furniture retailer... and a Warren Theatre, tends to be pretty upscale.

A Belk's? A Lowe's? What we have however seen of this project is not very upscale.

It is Upscale but not like Utica Square Upscale--- I don’t think Whole Foods would build there but Crate N Barrel I can see them putting a store in...

Warren Theater I would take rather than AMC Warren has the sweet Art Deco facade and would be nice for another name in town...

Cheese Cake Factory on this land would work... New Shopping and it’s surrounded by more than 300,000 people...
