Nice Spartan See TN we didn't need a expert from Canada We got one from OKC laugh.gif

It won’t be a Waste of money making a link to BA... You can even make a stop at Bass Pro and connect the new BA convention Center with Tulsa's downtown area... Bring people into town...

The idea behind the Eastland Line is my idea of how to rejuvinate east Tulsa. My hope is that the superb access to the rest of the city would spur development along the line.

I also gave the system a snazzy name, the TART.

That's hilarious, and so appropriate! Perhaps a hyphen would help. . . T-ART, or something a bit longer like Tulsa ART. That way they could use the system as art. The stations could be like galleries and the trains like moving pieces of artwork.

I need to find some new renderings of the new Metro Transit (OKC bus system) bus stops that they're going to spend a lot on. The plan is to eventually replace all the stops (like benches and a small pavillion at every corner) with this brand-new state-of-the-art bus stop that will improve the streetscapes around the inner city greatly.

But Tulsa could do something like that w/o a light rail system.

I have seen that the Tulsa Transit is doing the same thing but at certain bus stops only... One in front of Walgreens on 51st & Memorial is the best I can remember... They put some flowers around the little shack... The shacks are new and they are Green...

Wow, you've put a lot of effort into designing these rail systems. Good work. Now, what I think about the odds of them happening is a different story... haha.

A downtown/inner city modern streetcar loop is something I would love to see in both OKC and Tulsa.

One question I have about your plan- wouldn't there be too many stations in the Tulsa system for the system to be faster than roadways and viable?

Mass transit is ment to completment roads, not replace them. It gives people the freedom to be able to choose how they want to get around. The people that choose mass transit are cars that are no longer on the road, thus making the roads less conjested and faster for the poeple that choose to drive. Roads have to be made wider to increase capacity. Rail simply requires additional cars be added to each train and more trains be added to the system. Tulsa can wait too long as most bigger cities did, then have a headache on thier hands. Or Tulsa can have some vision, and start pursuing now, what cities like Houston should have done 30 years ago. That's my 2 cents for now.

Great map. Thanks for the effort.

I also agree, that light rail going all the way to Broken Arrow would be very wise. I hope this happens.

Honetly, there are frieght rail line all ready in place from Tulsa to BA. Commuter rail could use those exsisting lines, light rail con not. Plus, commuter rail is more efficiant on longer routes such as Tulsa to BA. Commuter rail also has higher capacity and top speeds of 80 MPH as opposed to 55-65 MPH with light rail. Commuter rail could be started cheaply along this line as a DMU (Diseal multiple unit). In the future it could be electrified and turned into an electric commuter rail line. Maybe I'm not as familier with Tulsa as you guys, so I might be wrong, but as of now, I'm sticking with DMU Commuter rail to BA as the perfect start-up line. Cheap (under $125 million), Fast (could be in place in under 5 years), High ridership potential would make rail popular in the eyes of teh Tulsa public, then they would want more.
