Delaware Avenue Reconstruction - A City of Tulsa Project
The City of Tulsa has announced it will begin a nine- to 12-month street reconstruction of Delaware Avenue from Interstate 244 to 11th Street. The project is scheduled to begin sometime after Monday, September 18. The TU campus community will be impacted by the project, but the university has been working with city officials to ensure – to the fullest extent possible – that campus facilities can be utilized and accessed during the street reconstruction.

You know I wonder if OCU and TU could (if OCU got a Division I football team) could possibly spark up a rival series. That would be neat.

OCU football, wouldn't happen. Costs way too much money and isn't worth it. I'm sure OCU would play off campus unless they decide to do some major soccer field work to up it to football field stand status.....don't hold your breath.

If they did, that would be nice... It well be like city verse city... TU would win ofcourse... tongue.gif

Road Work: Project to affect TU-area traffic
9/19/2006

Delaware Avenue reconstruction could take a year
A Delaware Avenue reconstruction project set to begin this week will tie up traffic around the University of Tulsa campus for as long as a year.

"It will be an inconvenience," TU spokesman David Hamby said, "but we think, in the end, the final product will be more than worth the growing pains we have to endure in the meantime."

A public meeting has been scheduled Tuesday for interested parties to ask questions of city officials and the contractor, Horizon Construction, before the work begins.

The $3.9 million Delaware Avenue project, extending from 11th Street to Interstate 244, is being funded primarily through the third-penny sales-tax extension that was approved earlier this year.
